Paradise Island Beach Club

We stayed a week at Paradise Island Beach Club. We knew that our flights would have us in earlier than check in, so when our room wasn't ready it was no big issue for us. We were able to leave our luggage in the luggage room. We passed time with games of ping pong between the 4 of us. Before the actual check in time, our room was ready. Villas are pre-assigned, so we knew we would be staying in Villa 27. It was right in the middle of the resort. It's on the 3rd floor with what seemed to be a decent amount of stairs-no elevators. I made the hike up the stairs (with a cane) I was overwhelmed with the view before I even entered the villa. As I approached the front door, which was open from my kids running in ahead of me, I could see all the way through the villa to the ocean. We were up high enough that the other villas were not blocking. I literally commented on that view every time I walked up those stairs for 7 days.

The villa was a completely furnished 2 bedroom apartment. The kitchen was completely stocked with everything we needed to cook all meals, plus have our usual comforts (such as a hot tea kettle.)
Tupperware was even provided to store leftovers in the fridge. And the dishwasher was a huge luxury. Who wants to do dishes on vacation?!

The property has it's own grocery mini mart on site. I say mini mart because it's small, but it had everything we could have wanted to buy! I was concerned I wouldn't have access to ginger ale (for medicine related nausea) but to my surprise, they had my favorite brand! They had many brands to choose from for each item, and prices were not typical gouged "resort" prices, but just a dollar or so higher than I pay at home. The mini mart had its own liquor store as well as small souvenir shop. We went through several gallons of ice cream during our stay. We packed a whole extra suitcase of food for fear of huge import prices of food here. We did not know what they would have for sale & didn't want to find a grocery store. We worried and packed for nothing. Everything we packed was available here. Luckily Southwest Airlines does not charge for the first two bags!

Also on site is a pool side restaurant. I was shocked to say the least, that the prices were the same as fast food prices at home in the Midwest. And even more shocked was I when the food was good! I got a turkey club and fries and very happily enjoyed my meal! The big pool overlooks the ocean, so you are able to see both while you eat. There is also a swim up bar in the pool.

There is another large pool, at the front of the resort which has no view. I loved this pool because it was heated. I mean it felt like a gigantic hot tub. It was just my cup of tea. I was a little let down there was no jacuzzi here. I'm sad I waited until the next to the last day to try out said pool.

The beach itself in front of the resort is an amazing location. Not busy whatsoever. There was never more than 2 other families on the beach. The sand itself was so soft, fine & white. And clean!
The PIBC provides beach chairs & towels complimentary. Their helpful staff even carried the chair wherever I wanted and set it up. Sadly while we were there (late Nov thru early Dec) the waves were really strong. In the mornings & evenings it came up over most of the beach. In the afternoon it was still too strong for the kids to get in the ocean, but they had just as much fun letting the water hit their toes and building sand castles. The waves actually rolled the Mr over and them tossed him on his side, loosing his sunglasses. His comment was "I didn't think it could happen to me."

Ok back to the villa. The master bedroom had its own full bathroom in it with a King bed and it's own entrance to the balcony that overlooks the ocean.

The 2nd bedroom had two twin beds. We pushed the two twins together and against the wall to make one large bed that the children couldn't fall off of.

There is also a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. The sectional couch was extremely comfortable. My favorite spot inside the villa was in the corner seat of the sectional. I could sit there and use the wifi while looking at the ocean and listening to the waves crash.

The dining table was glass and there were plenty of seats for our gang. We had 6 chairs, even though only 4 are pictured.

There was a second full bathroom outside the 2nd bedroom, as well as a small foldable shutter type door that shuts that part of the villa off from the rest, if you choose to use the door.
Overall I would definitely stay here again with my family. There were minor things that could be addressed, such as the light in the bathroom needed to be taken down and the inside cleaned well. The inside clear shower curtain could be replaced. And PIBC could provide a better working dishwasher detergent. All minor things that not affect our stay.

Housekeeping came everyday but two days, I believe Sunday & Wednesday were the days off. No complaints there.
