We knew having a 7 hour layover at LAX would be tedious, so we picked out restaurants we wanted to try if we could check our bags once we got to Lax. After another long 8 hour, cramped flight on Air Tahiti Nui, we were exhausted. As soon as I heard that we would have to pay $900 to get home an hour earlier, I called the Hilton at LAX and asked if they had a day rate for a Diamond Member. She asked for my member number and had a reservation set up for me within minutes. We just walked over to the hotel shuttle busses and hopped on the Hilton shuttle. We went up to the 16th floor to check in at the Executive Lounge since we have Diamond status. We were given a room by the pool in case we wanted to relax there or use the jacuzzi. As soon as I got in the room I went to sleep. I got a couple solid hours of sleep and woke up in perfect time to go grab snacks from the Executive lounge, then take the shuttle back to LAX. I didn't get a shower but I did bring home one of my favorite hotel amenities, Peter Roth Thomas toiletries.
Easy stay and it made my layover way more enjoyable.
